The Commitment to Regulatory Laws including Environmental Protection Laws
Regulatory laws are central in protecting humans as well as the nature’s ecosystem. They also ensure sustainability of businesses ensuring a balanced growth and well-being for all. Environmental laws ensures that individuals, governments and cooperates do not cause harm to the environment or its ecosystems. The constitution of India embodies the framework of protection and preservation of nature. The knowledge of constitutional provisions regarding environment protection is need of the day to bring greater public participation, environmental awareness and environmental education to preserve ecology. The contribution of each individual in society or in business is critical in meeting these regulations. Environmental laws are shared responsibility just like nature is a shared resource.
Jubilant is committed to environment protection laws. Our Code says that each Employee shall act in support of environmental practices and initiatives. While business segments have designated Employees who coordinate and manage compliance of environmental laws by the Company, all Employees are responsible for compliance with environmental laws. Employees must try to minimize, to the extent practical, the adverse impact if any, of the Company products, processes and services on the environment.
Our Code also states that the Company facilities shall comply with environmental laws and would not operate without the required environmental permits, approvals and controls. In addition, each facility and business segment must have an environmental compliance plan in place that it shall follow, and update each year. Each Employee is expected to be fully aware of and comply with the environmental compliance plan
In 2023, as the world continues to tackle with a number of challenges – the continued COVID-19 pandemic, resurgent wildfires, enduring crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and waste. With environmental regulations and our contribution we have the opportunity to create a world where people and the planet thrive together. Awareness on regulatory laws is spread amongst employees from time to time.
