PROJECT DETAILS
Activity 1: Basic Computer Awareness Training in HP WOW Bus
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation in partnership with HP has been implementing a digital initiative through HP WOW (Wonder On Wheels) project in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The HP WOW project provides sessions on basic computer literacy, covering a whole range of Microsoft applications which is very beneficial in day to day life.
Currently this project is running in Khubbanpur village of Roorkee. The total beneficiaries from the project are 64 students divided in 4 batches. These are students of class 8th & 9th standard of the village government school. JBF has received a good response and interest from the school management too and is looking forward to registering more students for the classes.

Activity 2: Road Safety Awareness session for school children
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation in collaboration with Road Transport Department, Haridwar conducted an awareness session on ‘Road Safety’ for school children of government public schools.
D.G.P. Mr. Ashok Kumar was leading the awareness session. He provided insightful information on red light jumpping, triple riding, over-speeding, no helmet and other important aspects of road safety. D.G.P. Ashok Kumar stated, “It is necessary to educate citizen responsibility to children at a young age. All these learnings then get instilled in the mind for a lifetime. We want the future generations to be responsible citizens keeping in mind safety of oneself as well as people around us.

Activity 3: Health Camp in community villages under LIC-Health Aarogya project
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation under LIC-Health Aarogya Health Project is catering to 15 villages by providing health check-ups to the community people. In the month of September more than 700 OPDs have been conducted.

Activity 4: Single Use Plastic Ban Awareness
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and EHS department of Jubilant Generics, Roorkee location in collaboration with Uttarakhand State Pollution Control Board organized an awareness session on ban of Single Use Plastic. The team was able to cover 15 schools in the nearby community and more than 50 employees of the organisation through this session. A quiz was also conducted and participants with correct answers were rewarded.
Mr. Panwar Regional Officer of USPCB also contributed to the session with his very simple and practical solutions to plastic ban. The USPCB team was very supportive and helped Jubilant to conduct the sessions for 3 days.


Activity 5: Learning Retreat 1 for Muskaan Fellows
A three-day Learning Retreat was organized from 20-22 October 2022 for the new batch of Muskaan Fellowship programme. This year a total 10 Muskaan Fellows joined the fellowship program. An introductory session was conducted giving them a brief on what is Muskaan Fellowship initiatve, their expectations from the program, the whole journey of Muskaan Fellowship. The fellows were also asked to create Aspiration Cloud commonly known as ‘Sapno ka Badal’.
It was a new experience for them to jot down their dreams, the steps taken to fulfill their dreams and what obstacles or challenges they are facing and how they will overcome it. It will help them to understand their vision well and will be helpful to achieve the desired dream. These Muskaan fellows will now start taking classes in Government schools.


Activity 6: ‘Poshan Mahh’ organized in 4 villages
As we all know POSHAN Abhiyaan is Government of India's flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children under 6 years of age, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Every year September is celebrated as the Poshan Mahh all over India to spread awareness regarding mother and child health.
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation organised the Poshan Mahh on 29th September 2022. The medical team along with Doctor, Pharmacist organized awareness session on the importance of nutritious meal/poshan for overall body development. Special emphasis on all the components of food- carbohydrates, protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals, calcium, iron etc was part of the awareness.
A nutritional ration kit was made which contained rice, wheat, pulses, jaggery, soyabean, daliya, and salt. This kit was distributed to all the needy people in the community especially to those who are under the Below Poverty Line. This kit will be a sample for them to further purchase ration in similar way and make sure they consume all the items on daily basis to maintain good health.


Activity 7: Nutritional kit distribution to 25 Malnourished children
On October 3, 2022, Jubilant Bhartia Foundation under its Swasthya Prahari-Malnutrition Project distributed nutritional kit to 25 malnourished children who fell under Severe Acute Malnourishment category. A total of 50 malnourished children are targeted annually and in the first phase 25 children have already been given the kit.
The list of malnourished children contains both SAM and MAM category of children from Bhagwanpur Block area in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. In the second phase the rest 25 targeted children will be provided with the kit. The health of these children will further be monitored as to what impact and improvement these nutritious food has made to the child’s health status.
The JBF medical team also conducted awareness session symptoms of malnourishment, types and its cure. The mothers of these children were counselled properly as to how they should take extra care of their child’s health as well as their own.
