MUSKAAN CORE COMMITTEE MEETING AT GHPS KATHWADIPURA

Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) firmly believes that education is the only tool to bring change in the society.

At present, JBF is supporting 10 Government Schools in Nanjangud that are labelled as Muskaan Schools. The Muskaan core committee meeting including 10 Muskaan school Head Masters/Mistresses (HMs) was organised at GHPS Kathwadipura on 22nd December. During the meeting 7 school HM’s were present and the school development activities were discussed.

CRAFT DAY - BEST OUT OF THE WASTE ACTIVITY

JBF organised craft day with theme ‘Best Out of the Waste’ activity at 10 Muskaan Schools of Nanjangud. This activity was directed to create the awareness among the students, to reduce the waste creation, to recycle the waste items and build a sustainable future. Total 522 students participated in the activity.

JUBICARE PROJECT

During the pandemic of Covid -19, everyone has realised the importance of health. Keeping this in mind, JBF launched the Jubicare Health Project (Telemedicine app). Through this project JBF is providing health services like door delivery of medicines to patient’s house with safety measures. In the month of December total no of beneficiaries were 1043.

DISTRIBUTION OF FIRST-AID ITEMS IN MUSKAAN SCHOOLS

Under the health program, JBF distributed the first aid items to more than 10 Muskaan schools.

NUTRITION AWARENESS PROGRAM AT UGHPS

In order to remove malnourishment and create awareness among the society, JBF started nutrition awareness program at Nanjangud. During the awareness session, JBF representatives explained the importance of balanced diet for women and mothers and how to prepare nutritional food to keep themselves and their kids healthy and active.

There is a need for increased awareness on the importance of good nutrition among the general public, especially in rural areas. There is also a need to address the issue of food insecurity and to provide people with the resources they need to access healthy food.

There is an immense need of having a proper understanding on proper nutrition among students and communities and how JBF can help to improve health indicators and create a healthier future for all. To make this programme a success, JBF will engage college youths as interns in this programme. The interns will be a primary driver of program. The children’s, mothers & other women of the communities will be benefitting from this awareness drive. JBF conducted awareness session at 8 schools (covering 680 school children) and 8 village anganwadi centers (covering more than 276 mothers).

SKILL DEVELOPMENT & VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE, NANJANGUD

In the year 2008, JBF started skill development and vocational training center at Nanjangud. Through this training center JBF trains the candidates in various trades like computer courses (basic computer, tally, DTP, Kannada typing, internet) Tailoring, Kuchhu, Soap Oil Phenyl training etc. There were 105 admissions in the month of December 2023.

JUBIFARM AND MORINGA PROJECT

In order to support farmers of Nanjangud, JBF started Moringa and Jubifarm project at villages of Nanjangud taluka. Moringa leaves consists of high protein value which will be helpful to generate high nutrition. JBF understood the importance of Moringo and distributed 2500 saplings for 8 selected farmers of Nanjangud. JBF also distributed general saplings to farmers in and around Nanjangud. Total 49 were benefitted under this initiative.

NUTRI GARDEN AWARENESS PROGRAM AT JSS KVK SUTTURU

On the request from CDPO, Women and Child Welfare Department Nanjangud, JBF in association with ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sutturu organised Nutri – Garden awareness program for anganawadi workers at Sutturu on 15th December. During the program Mr. Shiva Kumar - ACDPO, Women and Child Welfare Dept, Nanjangud, Mr. Chinnaswamy - Headmaster GHPS Geekhalli School, Dr.Vidya - Incharge officer, JSS KVK Sutturu, Mr.Rajana – Scientist, Soil Testing Dept, JSS KVK Sutturu, Dr. Vinay - Scientist, JSS KVK Sutturu and Mr. Prasad - Agricultural Scientist, JSS KVK Sutturu. Mr. Deepak. S – Manager CSR, Mr. Adarsha Nidhi - Assistant Manager, JBF Nanjangud were present. The participants were given the information related to variety of nutri saplings, how to grow it, methods and benefits.

Total 28 Anganawadi workers and 3 School Teachers were a part of the audience and benefitted from the program.
